To tell you about us, we must first begin with our founder. Our founder is Elder Bennie Maxfields who’s a Hebrew Israelite from The Tribe of Benjamin. In 1955, he was given a vision with the name The Branch of Jerusalem. Then in 1964, he was given another vision in which he was shown The Day Star Ensign of Peace and Love. In 1965, Elder Maxfields started his first temple in Beggs, Oklahoma and named it The Branch of Jerusalem. And then in 1968, we moved from Beggs to Tulsa, Oklahoma. Faced with persecution and rivalry from neighboring churches, Elder Maxfields along with our founding members built our temple with bare hands and with the power and wisdom of God. Here, he established The Branch of Jerusalem and The Day Star Foundation in North America.
The Branch of Jerusalem is a Hebrew Israelite group that encompasses all 12 tribes. There are 12 tribes of Israel; not just one. And, it is a speckled bird so it is compiled of all colors. Our God’s name is Yah, the one and only true God. He is the God of Israel, who sent his son (the man whose name is the Branch from the Tribe of Judah) to build the true temple of God. We are that temple. We teach that the Kingdom of Yah is being established on the Earth and is built on the foundation of peace and love. Here at The Branch of Jerusalem, we are Sabbath (Shabbat) keepers. The Sabbath is the 7th day which is from Friday at sundown until Saturday at sundown. And, all living will observe and keep the Sabbath. We obey the laws of Yah, celebrate his Holy days, observe new moon, and keep The Feast Of Tabernacles either at the Holy City, Jerusalem itself or at its branches. We are that Holy priesthood to the nations. And, we are called The Branch of Jerusalem for purpose. The Name has two meanings: 1The man and his wife: The Branch is the moshiach and Jerusalem (daughter) is the Holy City and center of all Israelites’ life. 2We are a representation, a branch, and an extension of the Holy City of Yah, Yahrushalayim (Jerusalem) which is the city that God placed his name forever. Our mission is to let the nations know that Jerusalem is not like the world thinks it should be where all the nations tell Jerusalem what to do. Jerusalem is the city that all the nations of Earth will come and be governed by The King of all the Earth. (Isaiah 2: 3-5)
